At its annual fall meeting last month in North St. Paul, the state Legion`s baseball committee drew inspiration from higher levels and praised the resolution, which had already been passed by the Legion`s National Executive Committee, state director Mike Perry said Thursday. American Legion Baseball announced last week the addition of a pitching rule before the 2018 season. The rule sets a daily limit for pitchers of 105 throws in the senior and junior programs. A pitcher can stop throwing to a hitter when the limit is reached in the middle of a plate appearance. In addition, depending on the number of throws thrown, there is a rest requirement of one day (31-45 slots launched), two days (46-60 slots), three days (61-80 slots) or four days (81+ slots).
