The Women`s Centre (WCC) provides helpline support, legal clinics, counselling and group support services to women in need or experiencing a period of uncertainty in their lives. The WCC offers a free legal clinic for women twice a month.
Women who are victims of domestic violence, marital problems, divorce, harassment and other family law issues come to our legal clinic to understand their legal rights and options. SCWO welcomes organisations and companies interested in volunteering with us in the following ways: The AWARE Helpline has been supporting women in Singapore since 1990. The goal is to provide empathy, support, encouragement and referrals to women who need help. The helpline is run exclusively by trained volunteers. Volunteers must attend a voluntary information session in October The volunteer consultant will provide IT support to AWARE staff. This includes troubleshooting help desk issues, assisting with website design and updates, troubleshooting errors, and creating updates to our helpline, members, and event management systems. They may also be involved in advising on the purchase of IT equipment or coordinating with hosting, telecommunications or network providers. 4. TRANS-NUS Law Community Legal Clinic for At-Risk Adults The LAB Volunteer Lawyers program was launched in 2008 to give lawyers without a practice certificate the opportunity to help the less privileged. Interpersonal and empathetic skills (assessed by interview) Those involved in fundraising may be invited to write grant applications or contact private donors. Volunteers can also launch peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns or other online fundraising campaigns. The work will vary throughout the year with intensity. AAWARE counseling services provide assistance to women who are in need or in a time of uncertainty in their lives, helping women solve and cope with many different problems – sexual assault, marital problems, etc. If you want to contribute in any way, gain experience or spend your time doing something good for the community, we are glad to have you! You can contribute by: Time required: Commit to accompany and/or support at least two support groups per year. Each support group operates for 7 consecutive weeks of weekday evening sessions.
